About the Photo Arts Group
The PhotoArts Group (PAG) has made a name for itself in the County's art scene since 2003 when it was created by a handful of professional and amateur photographers. Formed under the umbrella of the Escondido Arts Partnership, the artists early focus was to promote, display, and refine their work. While this is still their focal point, the Group's interests have expanded to include mentoring aspiring artists, networking with other photography groups, and promoting photographic arts in San Diego County communities.Just five years after the photographers' cooperative was formed, it has firmly established itself in the San Diego art scene boasting a large number of exhibitions. Some of these venues include Gallery 21 in Spanish Village at Balboa Park, Poway Center for the Performing Arts, The Village Gallery in La Jolla, The Archives of Escondido Gallery, Rancho Peñasquitos Library, and ArtWalk in Little Italy.
PAG members include established professionals, college photography instructors, serious amateurs, and emerging artists from throughout the county. Their photography encompasses a wide variety of styles and media ranging from traditional film and old and new alternative processes to cutting edge digital images.
